Ultimo: The Ultimate Strategy Game!

Team Mobi here!  We wanted to share a little bit about one of our games.  It's called Ultimo and it's one of the most subtly challenging and addictive games.  

Think tic-tac-toe strategy meets a 12 sided dice (bonus points if you know what that's called!).  This combination makes for a super fun game to get your kids thinking about what move should come next.  As a side note, this game is great for adults to get their wheels turning as well--you may actually be surprised to find that your child consistently beats you :)

The premise of Ultimo is simple: get the gold die!  BUT, you can't take it until the last play of the game.  Each player takes turns taking 1, 2, or 3 die (there are 15 total) and setting them aside.  Sounds pretty simple right?  You'd be surprised how many little intricacies are involved in this game. 

First off, there are so many ways you can configure the die before starting--one pile, 3 piles, make as many as you want!  Once game play starts, your move will (or should) depend on what your opponent does.   We love going to trade shows and playing Ultimo with people because we get to see huge light bulb moments for people when they understand what's going on.  Ultimo is a super fast game as well and shouldn't take more than a minute or two to play each game.
